Rinteln

Rinteln is a small town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located on the banks of the river Weser in the Weser Uplands, just 20 kilometers from Hamelin. The old town is picturesque affected by numerous half-timbered houses. In the middle ages Rinteln was surrounded by a town wall. In the modern ages the town wall was expanded and Rinteln became a fortress. From 1621 until 1810, Rinteln was the seat of Ernestina University.
Rinteln has a bicycle trolley station. The given up Extertal-railway is usable by bicycle trolleys. Additional Rinteln is start and finish of the cycling marathon "Große Weserrunde".

Performer-Couch

The Performer-Couch replaces the M5-Couch destroyed in Russia. The new couch is likewise a so-called HighRacer.
The frame of the producer Performer was made by aluminium Alloy 7005. The material has a high breaking strength and a density of only 2.78 g/cm³.
Manfred built up the new couch with the parts of the destroyed old couch. In order to attach the old parts Manfred had to forge some adaptors anew.

M5-Couch
Sometimes Manfred would like to rest on a couch and lay his legs high.
Therefore, Santa Claus had brought a parcel from the Dutch carbon ligfietsen producer M5. In the parcel was a frame rack, with which Manfred built a couch :-)
In the meantime Manfred pedaled some thousands kilometres recumbently. His experiences in riding the couch you find here: http://journals.manfred-tinebor.fotki.com/couch-riding/
To get a little impression of riding the couch speedy, please watch the video recorded on a country road in Lower Saxony between Polle and Bad Pyrmont: http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video/xepusr

Piesberg

Piesberg is a mountain of the Osnabrück Land region, which is used by mining. The first documentary mention of mining in this mountain comes from the year 1461. In the beginning, coal was diminished here. Today the mountain is used as a stone quarry. Beside extremely hard sandstone, sound stones and slate stones rich in fossil also appear. Yearly about 2 million tons of rock are diminished here. A big part of Piesberg is thereby transformed from a mountain into a hole.
